Peachtree Corner’s Town Center hits the road running – literally – in 2021. Town Center is now the home for a new electric vehicle fast-charging plaza that can charge up to 16 electric vehicles at one time, making it the largest public charging facility in Metro Atlanta and one of the largest in Georgia. The plaza offers twelve Tesla® V3 Superchargers as well as four universal charging stations, two 350 kW and two 150 kW, to provide charging capabilities for all types of electric vehicles. And its convenient location at Town Center means that drivers can enjoy all the surrounding restaurants, retail and services while they are charging up.
The Town Center charging plaza is just one part of the city’s energy plan as it seeks to become one of the first true smart city environments in the U.S. That initiative also includes a test stretch of new solar roadway that produces energy for an electric vehicle charging station at the nearby City Hall and trials of autonomous electric shuttles within the city.
